How it works

MasterLift is a service-area business. There is no counter to walk up to and no showroom to park outside — the vans run out of West Hartford and everything happens in your driveway. That keeps overhead off your invoice, and it is why we can quote a spring job at $189 when companies with a building on Route 44 cannot.

What to have ready when you call

None of this is required, but it makes the call shorter and the quote more accurate. The make of the opener, usually printed on the motor housing. Whether the door is single or double width. Roughly how old it is. And a plain description of what it does — goes up a foot and stops, hums but does not move, closes then immediately reverses. Those descriptions map fairly reliably onto specific faults.

What happens next

If you call, we usually diagnose the likely fault on the phone and give you a realistic range before anyone drives out. If you send the form or book online, a dispatcher calls you back — within minutes during the day, and first thing in the morning if you sent it overnight. Either way the estimate is free and there is no trip charge on repairs we complete.

Emergencies

Do not use the form. Call. A door stuck open, a door off its track, a snapped spring or a vehicle trapped inside are all things we dispatch on immediately, and the phone is the only channel with a person watching it at three in the morning.
